Every Monday through Friday, join us for Happy Hour from 3:30pm-6pm at any of our DMV locations. At Farmers & Distillers, our Happy Hour is available in our bar area only.

Our Happy Hour menus vary slightly by location, but include $5 craft cocktails, Highballs, beer, and wine, plus a generous range of our guest favorites from $2-8.

Do you have bar seating?

What is your corkage fee?

Guests may bring in one bottle of wine per party without a corkage fee. A $25 fee for each additional bottle applies after that and any wines brought into the restaurant may not be included on our current wine list.

Do you offer a free dessert for a birthday or some other type of celebration?

We are not able to provide a free dessert for celebrations but when making a reservation, you can pre-order a special dessert from the menu for the guest of honor and we can provide an acknowledgement of the celebration.

Ja, in most cases. Our servers and chefs are trained to address food allergies and can offer menu variations. Can I just arrive for a meal or do I need to make a reservation?

Reserve your table or come on in. Our full menus are available for weekday breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

How well can Founding Farmers DC accommodate someone with a disability?

All of our restaurants are well equipped to provide excellent hospitality for all of our guests. Please let us know if you have any access concerns or needs in dining with us. You can make note when making your online reservation, contact us in advance of your reservation, or let us know when you arrive.

Located on Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of Washington, D.C., Founding Farmers DC has an elevator and stairs to access two floors of dining, with a full bar on the first floor. There are restrooms on both floors. Metered parking is available on the surrounding streets and a Colonial Parking garage is located directly across the street at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave NW. Multiple bus lines pass directly by the restaurant and two Metro stops, Farragut West and Foggy Bottom, are within three blocks.

Can I add my name to the wait list over the phone?

Unfortunately, we cannot take names over the phone for the wait list. To be fair to all guests, if you are unable to make a reservation, then you must arrive in person to put your name on the wait list.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

No, we do not have a cancellation policy. We take all reservations in good faith, that our guests will inform us at the earliest possible convenience if a cancellation or change in party size is necessary. So, if you have a change, please let us know!

How can I make a reservation?

How long is the grace period if I’m running late for my reservation?

We get it, stuff happens. We offer a grace period of 15 minutes. If you arrive after the 15-minute grace period, even with a phone call, you may be subjected to the wait list simply to be fair to all of our guests.

Is there a dress code?

We like to think of ourselves as smart casual. We are what you want to make us… casual, sporty, pre-Kennedy Center show – we love it all!

Who do I contact if I want to make a reservation for a large party (more than 12 guests)?

What if I have an outdoor reservation, and/or it is raining or there is a forecast for inclement weather?

Some of our patios are covered or have ventilated tents. Learn more about each locations’ patios here. If you make a reservation on one of our patios – with or without a cover – please check the forecast (for rain or cold temperatures) for your reserved time and contact us if you need to change your reservation. Where we do have tents, we are keeping our tents partially open to ensure adequate airflow. To serve you safely on our patios and inside our restaurants, we are continuing to follow government regulations for reduced capacity and social distancing.

Washington, D.C.'s famed cherry trees grow in three park locations: around the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park, in East Potomac Park (Hains Point), and on the grounds of the Washington Monument.

The best way to get to the Tidal Basin and the National Mall is by public transportation. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Smithsonian Metro Station. From the station, walk west on Independence Avenue, continue until you reach the grassy area of the Basin or to stay on a paved walkway, turn left on Raoul Wallenberg Place SW and follow it to the Basin. Additional Metro stations nearby include L'Enfant Plaza and Foggy Bottom.

It is very difficult to drive there during this time of year due to the crowds and lack of parking, but if you must, here is a map and driving information.


Ohio Bill To Ban Vax Lotteries, Free Vax Donuts, Saying 'Vaccine' Unless You Turn Around 3 Times And Spit

Ohio announced its first winner of the Vax-A-Millions lottery Wednesday. Abbey Bugenske of Cincinnati was on her way to buy a used car when she got the call telling her she'd won, so we hope she decided to go ahead and get the extended warranty. California is following Ohio's lead, designating $116.5 million for vaccine incentives, including a $15 million cash prize that'll be split by 10 lucky people who've gotten vaccinated.

And West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice released a video featuring his bulldog "Baby Dog," advising residents that "she wants you vaccinated, I want you vaccinated, and I want a bunch of you to win all this stuff," by which he means the state's own incentive giveaway of cash prizes, 10 pickup trucks, and college scholarships.

Justice also explained, "I wouldn't dink around with this. I'd go get myself a shot. There's going to be so many wonderful prizes that you can win, it'll blow you away." But mostly, you should do it for this face:

Mike DeWine brags about how the lottery announcement has actually increased rates of vaccination that had been slacking off, Republicans in the Ohio General Assembly have introduced legislation that would largely eliminate vaccination mandates — or even requests of suggestions — across the state.

We're not just talking the COVID vaccine here, either: The proposal, Ohio House Bill 248, would make it virtually impossible for most entities in the state to require vaccinations for infectious diseases, though we suppose the bill's supporters will generously not try to overturn federal requirements, so enlistees in the military will still lose their precious right to contract diphtheria. The Ohio Capital Journal reports that on Tuesday, anti-vaxxers crowded into a hearing so they could demand freedom for infection.

Just how comprehensive would this sucker be?

The legislation would ban vaccine requirements on customers, employees or students from businesses, hospitals, nursing homes, K-12 schools, colleges, daycares, or others. It would also prevent governments, insurers, or businesses from offering incentives for people to get vaccinated, or even requesting that people get vaccinated. [. ]

Under the bill, a small business owned by asthmatics or cancer survivors — both of whom are at higher risk of serious COVID-19 complications — would have no legal right to require or even request that employees or customers who come inside be vaccinated. That's according to Dorit Reiss, a professor with a focus on vaccine policy from the UC Hastings College of Law.

"It's against business rights, it's against the individual rights of private businesses, it's against safety, and it's in support of the virus," she said.

And despite his promotion of the COVID vaccine and his confidence that people will recognize that the facts about vaccines will win over folks who are uncertain, DeWine dodged giving a direct answer Monday "when asked about HB 248 or a separate proposal to remove the 'reasons of conscience' exemption from school immunization laws." That's not necessarily a surprise, since the Lege has already overridden his veto of a bill that would limit a governor's ability to impose public health orders.

So Ohio may well end up with a law that's going to actively promote deadly diseases that could be prevented. It's a far more radical gift to anti-vaxxers than the Pennsylvania bill that would limit doctors' ability to ensure that kids get vaccinated.

Not surprisingly, the insurance industry and Ohio's medical community are horrified by HB 248, and doing all they can to oppose it we'll have to see whether that will be enough to prevent it from becoming law.

Maybe Mike DeWine should get a bulldog.

DC DMV Service Update as of April 19, 2021

DC DMV remains operational with most necessary services provided online. Service Centers, Adjudications Services, and the Deanwood Commercial Driver License (CDL) Office continue to operate on an &ldquoAppointment Only&rdquo basis.

The Inspection Station continues to operate on a first come, first serve basis with modified hours, and the Self-Service (OBD) Vehicle Inspection Kiosk operates 24/7.

Customers may schedule an appointment online or by calling 311 or (202) 737-4404. Customers are encouraged to use online options by visiting dmv.dc.gov.

Let wel: DC DMV&rsquos online appointment scheduler will be temporarily down for emergency maintenance beginning at 2:30 pm on Tuesdays. Service will be restored by 3 pm.

The following requirements will restart on June 1, 2021:

  • All District-registered vehicles must display valid registration and inspection stickers to avoid penalties and enforcement. Registration renewals are not eligible for in-person transactions. Renew online, on the DC DMV App, or by mail. Vehicle inspection is available on a first come, first service basis.
  • Any registration renewed with an RPP request on or after June 1 will be subject to new tiered RPP fees.
  • Any ticket issued after June 1 will be subject to adjudication hearing timelines listed on the back of the ticket. Tickets issued between January 1, 2020 - May 31, 2021 are still eligible for adjudication and payment of the original fine until September 30, 2021.
